An analysis of tuition costs at KIMEP University show undergraduates and graduate students will see tuition increase 13% for the 2024-25 academic year.

Based on tuition rate cards found on the KIMEP website, tuition for most undergraduates will cost 126,710 Tenge per credit hour this academic year. Last year, tuition was 112,130 per credit hour.
Graduate student tuition varies based on the degree sought.

The most expensive is the Executive MBA program, which now costs 320,830 Tenge per credit hour, up from 283,920 Tenge per credit hour, according to tuition records. Other graduate programs range in cost from a master’s in economics at 174,710 Tenge per credit hour to a master’s in international journalism at 128,270 per credit hour.

While the student activity fee of 7,820 Tenge per semester, which is part of the KIMEP Student Association budget and distributed to student organizations for activities, did not increase, other fees did have slight increases including the medical exam fee, official transcripts, diploma copies, and course withdrawal fees. Fees for late payments and late registration did not increase.

The library increased its fees for late books, now charging 1,260 Tenge per day, compared to 1,100 Tenge per day last year. It will also now require a textbook security deposit of 57,650 Tenge, up from 51,010 Tenge last year.

Administration officials said that the increase in tuition fees reflects the growing price tag of doing business.

The university’s financial needs include recruiting well-established faculty, constructing and renovating buildings and upgrading other facilities around campus.
