Unleash your creativity and make a short film in just one weekend?

The First Annual KIMEP Weekend Film Challenge is an exciting opportunity to showcase your filmmaking skills and compete for some amazing prizes!

Event Details:

• Kickoff Event: Friday, 29 November | 12:00-13:00
  • Location: #201 New Academic Building
  • Details: Register your team, draw your required film elements, and enjoy pizza and refreshments!
  • Note: Online pre-registration required (KIMEP students only!)
• Filmmaking Period: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (29 November – 1 December)
  • Create a short movie (5 minutes max, excluding credits)
  • Submission Deadline: Sunday, 1 December at midnight (submit to our YouTube Channel)
• Screening & Awards Ceremony: Friday, 6 December | 12:00-14:00
  • Join us for the screening, enjoy pizza and refreshments, and vote for your favorite!
  • Location: Hall #3 New Academic Building

Awards: Total Prize Pool: 200,000 KZT!

• Best Film: 50,000 KZT
• Best Acting: 25.000
• Cinematography: 25,000
• Editing: 25,000
• Sound Design:25,000
• Costume Design: 25,000
• Audience Choice Award: 25,000
  

Challenge Rules:

1. Films must be produced entirely during the weekend.
2. Use only original or royalty-free music.
3. No AI-generated content allowed—keep it original!
4. Must register by Thursday, midnight
5. The Team Leader must upload your film to our YouTube channel by midnight Sunday
6. At least one person from your group must attend the kick off event.
